FESTAC OAKLAND 2018

A celebration dedicated to artists: writers, painters, sculptors, musicians, and performers. Together with other artistic communities of Oakland, we seek localized policies to protect, engage, and enhance art and cultural activities, with support for community and social equity.

The event will have art exhibitions from prominent artist and meet & greet gatherings to discuss the preservation of rich culture in the face of gentrification that threatens to displace the very people and businesses that have made our City an incubator for diverse communities and livelihoods.

This cultural arts festival can further support public awareness of our collective culture, and expose the pioneer artists who have been instrumental in forming the cultural bedrock and history of our beloved City.
